Reporter Joe Allen is at the count in Sheffield and gives us an update on the atmosphere in Pond’s Forge.

He says Paul Tobin, Sheffield Student Union President, told him he was extremely upset and annoyed that over a hundred students were unable to vote, and intends to get in touch with the electoral commission as soon as possible.

He describes the atmosphere as electric, how the tension is building as people wait to hear the results.

He can hear occasional shouts from tables as nation’s press gathers round curiously.
